The LifeStreamTM HL7 two-way interface transmits information securely to and from the Epic system. Transferred data between LifestreamTM and Epic differs, depending on the direction that the data is flowing.

PATIENT INFORMATION TRANSFER PROCESS
In order to transfer patient information to Epic, a value needs to be entered into the Export ID field located on the Patient Demographics screen within the LifeStream™ application. This Export ID should be the same value used within the Epic application to identify the patient.
VALIDATING PATIENT INFORMATION
Before saving the record, verify that the Export ID values are correct. Incorrect Export ID values could transfer data for a patient other than the intended patient.
